Investors invest money in people who invest time

At the end of the day, the whole VC-backed startup space can be summarized in:

  1. Investors invest money in people.
  2. People invest time in transforming a vision into a reality.
  3. People figure it out with time, pivot, iterate, and impact the world.

What does not happen:

  1. Investors do not only invest in numbers, metrics, and processes. Product & traction is important, but a great scorecard without a great team is never a good investment.
  2. People do not receive money for “free”; they pay with time.
  3. Products never stay the same; the only constant is pivoting.
